Australian Green Sapphire Silver Cross Pendant

This cross necklace is set with a handcrafted Australian sapphire. This lovely natural green gemstone has been cut from the rough stone by my father, an experienced gemcutter, and shaped into a round, ‘brilliant cut’. The cut gemstone has been set in a sterling silver cross with a filigree texture.

This is a high quality, clear light green sapphire gemstone.

Provenance: This sapphire has a unique provenance. The ethically-sourced, rough sapphire was sourced by our family on location in the Queensland gemsfields, Australia circa 1971/2. As the Gemfields sadly are now depleted, due to mechanical mining, such a piece is all the more rare.

Birthstone: Sapphire is a traditional September birthstone.

• Cut sapphire diameter: just under 3/16inch (4.92 mm).
• Sapphire weight: 0.6 carats.
