Natural Apatite Coastal-Inspired Silver Pendant. A silver necklace designed and handmade here in the north-east of England. This pendant has been silver hallmarked at Sheffield, England.
I have made this pendant in silver and a tiny piece of natural, untreated green apatite gemstone. I have collected this apatite in the Northumbria region of England, in the United Kingdom. After making the pendant, in both fine silver and sterling silver, using silverwork techniques, I shaped the tiny piece of apatite gemstone to fit the setting.
The pendant design is inspired by the Northumbrian coastal environment and the unique shapes of the fronds of a seaweed species found here on the north-east coast of England. The background texture of the pendant includes a ‘beach pebble’ effect.
- Pendant size: approx. 7/8 inch square (22 mm square).
- The pendant has a hand-forged wide sterling silver rolled bail and comes on a sterling silver trace chain
The pictures show an example of this new design. Each pendant I make is unique, so the piece may vary slightly in appearance from the one pictured. I aim to match as closely as possible.
